| Vaccines | PPG, polycosanol, is a pharmaceutical derived from sugarcane wax. PPG is a combination of primary aliphatic alcohols. The major component of PPG is 1-octacosanol. PPG has little, if any, toxicity. The minimum dosage is a single tablet (5 mg) daily to observe a statistically significant decrease in plasma lipids. Cuba manufactures and markets PPG globally to help physicians treat patients with hyperlipidemias and hypercholesterolemias. Proper changes in diet, lifestyle, exercise, etc. are valuable components of a comprehensive program to reduce patient morbidity and mortality due to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (Cuba Heart Symposium) |
